The last few ones have been pretty long so here's a short and simple one =)

Games

Running, running

Chasing, chasing

Bean bag toss

And potato sack racing

All of the games 

Are so much fun

Girls and boys of all ages

They're fun for everyone

The Princess

The Princess

Once upon a time

Long, long ago

There was a princess

Waiting for a beau

Stood at the window

Everyday

Waiting, waiting

Waiting her life away

Why, she asked

Does he not some

All this waiting

Makes me numb

She cried herself

To sleep at night

Hoping he'd come

At the next light

One day

While sitting there

She heard a voice

And turned in her chair

Standing behind her

Dressed in White

There was a man

But he was not her knight

The princess spoke

Questioning the man

Who are you, she asked

He answered, I am

He told her of someone

Who thinks of her a lot

Loves her unconditionally

And her freedom her bought

He game his life

Up for you

What, she asked

Is this true

Yes, he said

My words are true

My dear princess

I would't lie to you

This man

Of whom you speak

Must come to me

For I am weak

He did, said the man

I am him

The he told her of his love

And filled her cup to the brim

She asked God into her heart

That very night

Prayed God into her life

Overwhelmed the darkness with light

From then on

She was filled with joy

And eventually she got married 

And had a baby boy... :)

So many problems
In the world around me
So much chaos
Does surround me

It's so easy to get lost
In my things
So easy to idolize
The fake joy that it brings

In so short a time
I turn from the Lord
In so short a time
I'm so easily bored

Destruction and turmoil
Strike the land
But with God at my side
Against me none can stand

If I only opened
My eyes to see
Everything God
Could do with me

So now I proclaim
I will turn my back
On the hurt that I brought
And the love that I lacked

I need Jesus' help
I wanna shine with his joy
I'll help bring down the devil
Who steals, kills, and destroys

So I challenge all people
Who hear me today
To join me in battle
Because God's here to stay.


When I wrote this I was so excited that I got to use the line "destruction and turmoil strike the land" because it's so much fun to say and it's very dramatic =)

Roller Coaster Ride

So, I don't even like roller coasters but I wrote this poem anyway.... =) enjoy!

Roller Coaster Ride
Higher, higher,
Higher we go
Everyone's anxious
Because this part's slow

The very next part
Is going to be fast
That part
Is such a blast

When you reach the top
You don't want to look down
Because you're so far
Off the ground

Then it speeds up
Everyone screams
But it's gone so fast
It feels like a dream

The other hills
Are also fun
But the don't surpass
The biggest one

When it's done
You get back in line
To do it again
One more time...

Childhood Games

As I was walking down the street

Listening to the birds go tweet

I passed a a home, it was quiet as can be

Until I heard a young boy call out a plea

I walked across the yard

Peeked around the house

Took a few steps more

Quiet as a mouse

I saw the young boy

He was playing in the sand

He stood up and started marching

Like in a big marching band

He didn't see me, he was enjoying his game

He steadied his bow, as he took aim

In this game he was an Indian

Saving his people from the mean, old white men

Next he was a tall, handsome, brave knight

Who saved all the ladies, but not without a fight

This way and that, he swung his sword

A throne to the king he restored

I remember well

These childhood games

I survived everything

Even a jump through flames

As a child 

We are confident

Anything's possible

If we just commit

Even now,

Grown ups and all

Anything's possible

So go, do not stall =)

Lying in bed

Brain wheels are turning

Things you are thinking

Things you are learning

Thoughts are deep

Ponder this question

Stumble on facts

Sudden realization

Philosophical things 

Running through your head

Thinking these thoughts
