Fear of Falling

I have a fear of heights (which should be better known as fear of falling) and this is what I feel and think when that sets in...

Fear of Falling
Edge of the building
Twelve stories tall
Peer down at the ground
What a great fall

Don't lean on the rails
A screw might slip, as would you
My stomach churns
And I think I might puke

If I fall of the edge
Then my neck could break
My bones could shatter
And my brain could could get a shake

All this could happen
And my head might crack
So, if that's the edge,
I think I'll stay back.

Most Fun

I love to babysit and kids love to dance...

Most Fun
The best kind of exercise
Is jumping around
Waving your arms
And laughing out loud

Dancing to sill music is great
Add in some kids
And a good time is made

Kick up your feet
And yell out the words
Oops! Turn down the music!
The neighbors all heard!

Hot showers, baking
Watching old movies
And fort making

Boy's half smiles
Dancing to favorite songs
Doing my hair
And playing ping-pong

Me and God times
Long road trips
Best friend moments
And hick accents

There's so much more
It never ends
What makes you happy?
Clocks ticking or winds?

Laughs fill the air
Kids fill the park
Birds fill the sky
In their own special art

God is so good
To me everyday
Life is be-awesome
In all its ways

I'm blessed with food
At every meal
And a warm house to live in
Along with God's good will

I love it here in Texas
We've got cows, horses and possums
God is so good
And life is be-awesome



I've never actually seen a possum, I just needed something that rhymes with awesome :) haha

A source of smiles

Down Syndrome

Down Syndrome
There's this thing called Down Syndrome
It makes some people different
But it also makes their smile brighter
Each kid is God-sent

They bring a smile to your face
And more laughs into the world
They're not much for judging
And they're worth way more than pearls

They're big packages of love
And a joy to everyone
They're passionate and caring
When with them it's so fun

All in all, they're beautiful
Inside and out
Some people think they're weird
But they're sweet without a doubt.

My Garden

This is the sad tale of my garden...

My Garden
I exit the house
With joy and a smile
It's time to plant a garden
That will last a while

Boy, was I wrong
About that last line
It didn't take long
For the flowers to die

I'm rather persistent
So, I tried again
For my beautiful garden
But guess what happened then

I forgot to water
Those poor, little plants
So, they followed the others
In the death stance

A third time, then
We bought some flowers
But they dried up
Without water showers

I think I'll wait
A few more years
To plant another garden
To avoid the tears.

The Avengers

So my little sister, Abby, gave me the idea for this one because she absolutely loves the Avengers :) This is not my best, but it's something :)

All the Avengers
Have ups and downs
And most of them
Weigh quite a few pounds

Now Thor needs a haircut
Although that kid is strong
And he's from a different universe
But that story's long

Captain America's suit
Looks rather dorky
But all else is flawless
With a perfect dose of quirky

Iron Man's pure awesome
But he's perfectly aware
He flies, he shoots, and does all that
And he does it all with flair

It depends on whom we're talking about
Is it Banner or the Hulk?
Banner's smart. Hulk can smash.
But when he comes out, I would dash

Hawkeye can aim
That arrow straight
So if pointed at you
It's already too late

Black Widow is a fighter
And a gorgeous one at that
She can take down an army
In twenty seconds flat

Last, but not least
Nick Fury rules the roost
And when they're feeling down
He gives them a boost.
